Cyber security · Chesterfield

Cyber security services for Chesterfield businesses, from people who do the work.

We're a Chesterfield cyber security company. Most of our clients are 20 to 250-person firms across North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire — manufacturers, accountants, solicitors, logistics operators — who need security sorted properly without hiring a full-time team.

The challenge

What we actually find when we walk into a local SME.

The pattern is remarkably consistent. An IT provider or one stretched internal person keeps the lights on. Microsoft 365 was set up years ago and never revisited. There are admin accounts nobody can explain, a firewall rule added for a supplier in 2019, and backups that run every night but have never been restored end to end.

Then a customer — often a larger manufacturer or a public-sector buyer — sends a supplier security questionnaire, or the insurer asks harder questions at renewal, and suddenly security becomes urgent.

  • Supply-chain questionnaires arriving with a two-week deadline
  • Cyber insurance renewals asking about MFA, EDR and offline backups
  • No clear owner for security between the MD and the IT provider
Our approach

Fix what matters first, then keep it fixed.

We start with an assessment so the spend goes where the risk is. Typically that means identity and email first, because that's how most local incidents we've dealt with started — a phished mailbox, then a fraudulent invoice.

From there you choose how much you want us involved: a one-off piece of work, ongoing managed security, or a virtual security manager who attends your board or management meeting and owns the plan.

Who it suits

Built for organisations that need the work done properly.

Firms with an IT provider but no security lead

We work alongside your existing provider rather than trying to replace them.

Suppliers under pressure from bigger customers

Manufacturers and service firms being asked for Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001 or completed questionnaires.

Outcomes & benefits

What changes once the work is done.

A clear owner for security

Someone accountable, whether that's an internal person we support or our own consultant.

Answers ready for customers and insurers

Evidence you can send rather than reassurances you hope are true.

Spend matched to risk

Fewer tools bought on a hunch; more effort on the handful of controls that stop real incidents.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we are asked most often.

Are you actually based in Chesterfield?

Yes. We're a Chesterfield business and most of our on-site work is within an hour of the town — Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham and the M1 corridor. Plenty of the work is remote, but we'll come in when it's useful.

We already have an IT support company. Do we need you?

Often you need both. Most IT providers are good at keeping systems running; fewer have the time or remit to challenge configuration, test backups or answer a 120-question supplier audit. We work alongside them and are careful not to step on their toes.

How much does it cost?

An assessment for a typical 50-person firm is a fixed fee agreed up front. Ongoing services are a monthly fee based on users and devices. We'll give you a number on the first call rather than make you wait for a proposal.

Where should a small business start?

Usually with Cyber Essentials and an honest look at Microsoft 365 — MFA everywhere, no shared admin accounts, sensible email protection. That combination closes off the routes behind most incidents we see locally.
